Big Sleepy Bear is a freelance motion design studio of exactly one person. I write, design and animate short videos that make complex products make sense, mostly for SaaS, finance and healthcare teams who need the value explained without an agency-sized invoice.
I spent long enough around bigger production setups to notice how much gets lost between the person who takes the brief and the person who actually animates the thing. Layers of account management, briefs relayed third-hand, and a final invoice padded with everyone who touched it on the way.
So I do the opposite. When you work with me, the person you brief is the person writing the script, drawing the storyboard and animating every frame. Feedback goes straight to the source. Nothing gets diluted, and you're not paying for a hierarchy, just the work.
It also means I'm honest about scope. I'd rather tell you a project doesn't need the biggest package than sell you one. A good freelancer's reputation is their entire pipeline, so getting it right matters more than upselling.
The videos that work say a single idea clearly, then stop. I'll always fight for the shorter, sharper version.
Most videos are won or lost in the writing. We lock the words before a single frame gets animated.
A homepage explainer and a social cutdown are different jobs. I build for the place it'll actually be watched.
Big Sleepy Bear is a side project, and I like keeping it that way, a clean space that's about the work, not about me. You'll always deal with a real person who's straight with you; the branding just stays on the studio, not a headshot. If we work together, you'll get to know me plenty.
